Stakeholder Partnerships
Common ground is fertile ground for innovative solutions. Whether designing industry incentive programs or resolving a contentious regulatory issue, bringing together stakeholders to negotiate complex technical and policy issues requires understanding both the technical detail and the mechanics of designing and running an inclusive stakeholder process. Our staff have developed and facilitated such partnerships for a wide range of clients including:
- National Pollution Prevention Roundtable
- Companies participating in the Industrial Pollution Prevention Council of the Business Roundtable
- State of California
- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
- Product Stewardship Institute National Dialogue on Leftover Paint
- TURI Wire and Cable Supply Chain Partnership
- Idaho GEMStars Program
Examples of our work with stakeholders include:
- The National Pollution Prevention Roundtable and several companies from the Industrial Pollution Prevention Council of the Business Roundtable initiated a multi-stakeholder effort involving industry, environmental groups and state environmental agencies to evaluate the benefits and limitations of public use of materials accounting data. Pure Strategies facilitated a two-year process that included innovative analyses of the costs and uses of materials accounting data for facilities, state agencies and the public.
- Pure Strategies supported the Governor's Pollution Prevention Advisory Board in Idaho in developing the Idaho GEMStars Program a statewide voluntary pollution prevention incentive program for businesses, farms and local governments. Pure Strategies facilitated Advisory Board meetings, as well as meetings throughout Idaho with representatives of industry, local government, agriculture and environmental groups.
