


Ken Soltys is a senior scientist at Pure Strategies with 30+ years experience performing applications development, process development, market development and sales in the paint, web coatings and plastics industries. Assignments range from the development of silicone/alkyd paint vehicles used for naval ships paint to developing markets for polycarbonate-based polyurethane solution polymers. He also developed additives for PVC and polyurethane foam US Patent #3,417,038 “Plastics Foam Additive.” Other experience includes 12 years with the Massachusetts Office of Technical Assistance, where he visited and provided technical assistance to over 700 manufacturing facilities. Most recently, he has been involved with helping small companies comply with proposed changes in the Hazard Communication Standard by preparing Material Safety Data Sheets in the 16 part ANSI format.
Ken has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Widener University, Chester, Pennsylvania and completed continuing education courses in Pulp and Paper manufacturing, Organogeochemistry, Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene and Process Safety Management. Ken is currently a Commissioner for the Hingham Conservation Commission.
